What We Do

Communications Section is the 'shop window' of the British Embassy in Bucharest. We are here to promote modern Britain and to increase knowledge in Romania of Britain and British policies.

Our activities include liasing with the media, building and maintaining contacts in the political, economic, social and academic spheres and making practical arrangements for official visitors from the UK. We also devote much of our time to providing information about Britain. This can take the form of answering queries from the public, talking to schoolchildren and university students, or supplying TV stations with broadcast material. We also work closely with the British Council Romania.

Communications Section is a busy one, reflecting the excellent relations between the UK and Romania.

Who We Are

Raluca Brăgărea

Raluca is Head of Communications. A former TV international news editor and a Fulbright scholar, she holds a Master of Arts in Information and Communication Studies with California State University at Chico. Raluca is a major cafe latte fan and likes to collect hand-painted icons. Her other hobbies include traveling and watching movies with friends, particularly Quentin Tarantino's movies.

Roxana Frosin

A Media/Events Manager, Roxana is also playing the role of Webmaster. She holds a Journalism and Communication Sciences degree and studied international journalism with the Reuters Foundation. Roxana used to be an editor with the Romanian mass media for about seven years. A fan of JRR Tolkien, she would always find precioussss time to talk about Hobbits and Elves with (s)he who hearkens to the stories of the elder days.

Andreea Hanganu

Andreea has recently joined the team as New Media Assistant. Her main responsabilities are to manage the Embassy's online & social media communication. Andreea has 2 years experience in public relations and event management. She is a huge fan of chocolate and sweets and passionate about adventure novels.
