Amendments to the Accession (Immigration and Worker Registration) Regulations (02/10/2009)
Legislative amendments to the Accession (Immigration Worker Registration) Regulations will come into force on 2 October 2009.
The UK recognises the contribution that A8 and A2 accession workers have made to filling skills and labour supply gaps within the UK. The legislative change will take the form of The Accession (Worker Authorisation and Worker Registration) (Amendment) Regulations 2009.
The change will mean that spouses, children under 21, and older dependent children A8 and A2 nationals working under the WRS or Workers Authorisation Scheme will no longer need to register or apply for authorisation to work in the UK whilst the principal family member is working. The principal family member will continue to be subject to the WRS (A8) or Workers Authorisation Scheme (A2).
